Intrinsica’s skills and resources provide rapid progress and successful delivery of online testing, marking and data management solutions. Working in close partnership Intrinsica facilitated the automation of processes and workflow between award bodies and their clients/centres to improve the efficiency and speed of communications and reduce administration and costs.

Our understanding and domain experience in the education sector underpins our technical capabilities in the development of web-based connectivity and back-end database driven systems. This includes clear in-depth understanding of award body processes e.g. standardisation, marking, quality of marking procedures and moderation. We are also aware of the need for award bodies to enhance their secure on-line services to examiners and centres to provide improved services at a reduced cost to deal with new requirements such as coursework and enquiries about results.

Our present engagement for DRS Data services includes assisting in the development of the DRS e-Marker® system, which during the summer of 2005 4,500 examiners ‘logged on’ to record over 25 million marks from 2.3 million scripts, during summer 2006 6,400 examiners recorded over 65 million marks from four million scripts.  Intrinsica helped develop this sophisticated electronic marking technology which is transforming the way examiners are marking exam papers.

Typical of many of Intrinsica’s developments, this system was built connecting back-end systems to secure web-based solutions which provide capabilities such as secure authorisation and authentication, tracking/resolution, data matching, dynamic real time information and form-based data collection.
